Hi guys, I am looking to buy a new professional DSLR, and switching to Nikon, tho I have no experience in choosing the right camera. I do a lot of freelance photography, buildings, portraits, scenerys etc, but my budget is around $1000-$1500 usd. Can someone help me with options. All I have ever known and learned was Canon, and I have been saving up just for a Nikon. Is the D90 a good one? Which is better and still in my price range? Thanks !!

And there is an Esperanto version "Mazi en Gondolando" - neat! Though hearing Esperanto again brings back the embarrassing memory of being outed as a non-speaker at that artificial language meetup. The jumbled Italian did work for a little while at least.

I am TAing an awesome class this quarter for the first time - an upper division CS class on CS, Public Policy, and Ethics. A departure from my normal TA assignments to be sure but the material is fascinating and the prof is both very qualified and very passionate. And apparently I'm going to give at least one (two?) lectures to the class while she is away on travel. Lecturing on Security and IP to a class of 100 upper division CS majors - can't be that hard, right? Right? .... *gulp*
More from Sunday's photo session. Backlit smoke against a black background looks so cool. :-) Lighting Info: Main light: speedlight through an umbrella softbox, camera left. Fill, speedlight through a Softliter II, camera right. Rim light, speedlight through a snoot, attached to background support by a Justin Clamp. Lights triggered via a combo of radio and optical slaves.

If you could choose all the characterists for a "perfect" boyfriend/girlfriend, what would they be? Do you really think you could date the "perfect" boyfriend or girlfriend or do you think it's their imperfections that make you love them?
I shot this family, and aside from being "cute" they are truly inspiring.

Hey folks, Sorry about the return of the Big Pierced Nipple tonight. I deleted it yesterday w/ a warning to the poster. This time the poster got a warning in Russian and English. I should have checked the first time to see where they were posting from & sent the appropriate note. But let this be a reminder to us all that before you post anywhere, it's a good idea to check the /info page of that community. Your friendly neighborhood moderator, Kyle
